“screw type PL1 vs P2” ? Answer: PL1 = P2
- They are saying to remove the pentalobe screws on iPhone 11 and earlier you need their “PL1” bit but to remove the pentalobe on the iPhone 12 you need a “P2 Pentalobe”. I don’t believe Apple changed the size of their pentalobe screws, did they? If so are these Wera bits the same thing just named differently?
- PL1 is the same as P2. There are multiple naming conventions.
- I emailed Wiha about this. They confirmed that the “P2 Pentalobe” is in fact a bigger bit than the “PL1”. I asked them clearly if the pentalobe on the iPhone 12 is bigger than other iPhones and they said yes it is.
- So their PL1 is actually the same size as iFixit’s P2. *
